Please understand upfront that I am well aware how ridiculous this probably is, but I decided to throw it out for discussion just in case I'm not the only one who ever thought about it. I also want to say upfront that I'm not Jewish, and I don't have any kind of agenda...I'm nothing more than a middle-aged, everyday-kind-of-guy, who hates what is happening to our country like all of you.
Last night while watching The Pelican Brief, I found myself in the mood to explore unusual/alternative explanations for what the evil ones are up to in the Middle East...specifically, why Iraq?
We're obviously not there to bring democracy and freedom. Oil certainly seems like the safe and smart bet, although they did try to kill his daddy.
I went online and found this map of the Middle East, and then I noticed something that I always knew, but never really thought about before...
American troops are closer to Israel than they've ever been before, except for Desert Storm.
We all know that our leaders had enough sense to get out of Iraq after accomplishing their objectives during Desert Storm. We also know that our current crop of liars, thieves, and murderers in the White House are far more radical.
There's been a lot of talk about going to war against Syria lately...indeed, we're on the border now. We hear that most of the "terrorists" flooding into Iraq to fight our troops come from Saudi Arabia, not Syria...but looking at the map, it would seem to be a lot easier for them to enter Iraq from Saudi Arabia.
So why Syria? So that we have troops on the border of Israel? Isn't Iran a bigger threat? Yet we're concentrating on the western part of Iraq instead of the eastern part.
And wouldn't the Religious Right like nothing more than to bring about Armageddon so they can all be saved? Or at least I believe that's how the story goes...10 heads of the dragon, Israel comes under attack, Armageddon begins, 7 years of tribulation, yada yada yada...
Perhaps I should stop watching movies like The Pelican Brief, and stick to more down-to-earth TV shows like 24.
